ART | Brooklyn Museum - Rise of Sneaker Culture

Hey Creatives,

I recently visited The Brooklyn Museum for 'The Rise of Sneaker Culture' and found some more cool exhibits. They include include: 'Faile: Savage/Sacred Young Minds', 'Basquait: The Unknown Notebooks', 'The Dinner Party' and 'Zanele Muholi: Isibonelo/Evidence'.

It has been years since my last visit to The Brooklyn Museum, and when I found out the sneaker culture would be featured, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to go visit.

The evolution of sneakers from its beginnings to it current role as a status symbol and an urban icon. The Sneakers Culture exhibit features film footage, interactive media, pictures, design drawings from brands like Converse, Nike, Puma, Reebok, Adidas and etc. Although I am not an avid sneaker consumer, the culture is indeed admirable. This lifestyle takes a lot of dedication and commitment goes into it and even more money and I ain't got time fo' dat.

I really enjoyed and learned a lot from this exhibit, the sneakers displayed were not only cool, but proved their influence with the surplus amount of visitors who are popularized as "sneaker-heads" whom were uber excited about the collections. The exhibit ends on October 4th, 2015.

P.S. I will be making a post for each exhibit, it will be too much for one post.

Spread art, it's the Brooklyn way!
